Local tax-preparer Ricardo Bentham has provided accounting services on Farmers Boulevard for over 15 years as a sole proprietor. Amidst the increasing redevelopment of Farmers Boulevard, Bentham’s confidence in the economic strength of the neighborhood was confirmed. Bentham recently attracted H&R Block to a 10-year franchise agreement bringing the well-known brand to 113-35 Farmers Boulevard. The franchise will be phased in as Bentham phases out his former sole proprietorship, Phoenix Business Services.
Farmers Boulevard Community Development Corp. (FBCDC) is the not-for-profit organization that has spearheaded recent clean-up and redevelopment efforts on Farmers Boulevard in southeast Queens.

NYC Councilmember Leroy G. Comrie, Jr. recently awarded a grant to help the St. Albans community improve access to health-conscious eating choices. The grant was issued to the Pratt Center for Community Development, which is working in partnership with the Farmers Boulevard Community Development Corp. to identify health-conscious restaurant strategies for Farmers Boulevard.
Saint Albans, NY (October 15, 2010) – Farmers Boulevard will soon reap the benefit of a capital funds allocation from Queens Borough President Helen Marshall. The award is part of BP Marshall’s Commercial Corridor program, and Farmers Boulevard is one of only six corridors to receive capital funds through this program in Fiscal Year 2011. Plans are already in progress to improve Farmers Boulevard with landscape enhancements, security cameras, and renovations of certain City-owned buildings on the boulevard.
