About Us
Farmers Boulevard Community Development Corp. (Farmers Blvd CDC) is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 2009 to revitalize Farmers Boulevard into an inspiring, convenient, and appropriately utilized main street serving Saint Albans and the surrounding neighborhoods in southeast Queens, New York. The initial focus of the organization is the portion of Farmers Boulevard running from Hollis Avenue to Murdock Avenue, with a long-term vision spanning south all the way to JFK airport.
Farmers Blvd CDC was born from the overlapping missions of the Ilion Area Block Association, Inc., the African Center for Community Empowerment, and Neighborhood Housing Services of Jamaica, Inc. The organization receives support from such groups and agencies as NYC Department of Small Business Services, Queens Economic Development Corporation, and Queens Council on the Arts.
